Since 1993, JADEYE has registered 13 Korat litters. As you can see, seldom more than one per year. And my intention is to go on like this.
The beginning of this adventure has been quite hard and difficult, from the health point of view. Unfortunately the first two Korats I imported from Norway carried a lethal genetic illness called Gangliosidosis. I lost 3 kittens with this tremendous disease during the first years, but never gave up to it.
In 1998, with the help of other Korat breeders and of dedicated scientists, finally we had the possibility to use a DNA test to find out if our cats were carriers or not.
Of the 17 Korats I have tested in Italy, at that time, out of my cats, only one was free from the gene, EC. Jadeye's Arrogance. Everything had to start all over again from her...For those interested in pedigrees, here you are the list of my litters since I started.
