Sire: Yang Chen Ma Hoo Who's, DM
Dam: GIC. Sawat's Kirilin
d.o.b. 29 June 1994
she
got 28 Nominations to the Best in Show
was 11 times Best in Variety
was 3 times Best Opposite Sex
was 14 times Best in Show
and 5 times BEST OF BEST!
It
is not very easy for me to explain the importance that "Camilla" has
for me...Since
the very beginning of our "friendship", I felt she was "different" from
all other Korats I was used to living with. I
don't know why, but between us a particular relationship started
that could be considered as being on the same level. She was not
at all impressed or scared by me nor I was impressed by her strength
so that we have been almost always in a sort of competition at home.
A
competition consisting of continuous "power tests" to
determine which of the two was going to have the upper hand on the
other one... A competition of noises, sights, imperceptible movements
of the head... of the eyes... She
was definitely the boss at home among my other cats. She decided
which cat was to be considered as friend and for how long...
She used to be very nice and friendly at the beginning with every
other cat until she could find their a weak point... Then she started "enjoying" her
ability of being "respected"...
Extremely
sweet and gentle with people (I don't recall ever having seen a claw
out of her paws) and a real "tiger" with everything resembling
a cat! She
started her show career soon after her arrival in Italy in 1995.
Immediately people started calling her "THE VOICE"! Everytime
she was on the Best in Show panel, she expressed herself shouting
like crazy and terrorizing the other cats near her with her voice
and her bossy attitude. But she never attacked anyone (people or
cat) only complained so much, though. Now
she is retired from competition, having added the European Premior
title to her already very long name. "Camilla" became European
Champion in 1997 in a bit more than one year.
After being spayed
in 1998, she started again as a Premior and now it is really time
for her to have a rest from the show bench.
I travelled with her troughout Europe for many years and, despite
of the distances, she has always been understanding of the situations
and ready for the commitment she was having while on the panel. Always
presenting herself like the ONLY QUEEN and actually with such a great
success! She knows she is the best!
In
1999 I decided to bring her to the FIFe World Show. Very easy and convenient
for me as it was held in Milan. I remember being so shocked by the Nomination
on Saturday that I couldn't believe it to be possible...
Maybe my life has not been so exciting in general, but I can say with no doubt
that the WORLD WINNER title that arrived on that Sunday was the most important
and rewarding moment I ever lived until then! "Camilla" made my dream
come true and established the Korat success once and for all!
I have been so lucky to share that experience with my friends Camilla and Jen...
How can I ever forget it!
But
the emotions didn't finish... Another World Show was waiting for us, that year
in Prague, so far from home... And she did it again! She is a "DOUBLE
WORLD WINNER" now. Well,
it's now a bit easier to understand why she has been and still is so important
to me... But, apart from the show successes she had, I also must say that
it has been thanks to her that I could also appreciate the special
friendship between me and her breeder, Camilla (the two-legged, of
course...). Without her I couldn't have this special cat, first of
all, I couldn't have the support and encouragement I needed during
those dark breaking down moments for my breeding... The two "CAMILLAS" together
make a perfect combination! I
didn't mean to write so much, but, when it comes to talking about this "special
cat" that's the result...
I'm proud of this Korat, proud of what she has meant and what she has gained,
happy for having shared so many special moments with her and confident that
she will pass on something special to my breeding...
